NCAA College Football 25 – Which is the best passing style

NCAA College Football 25 features four different passing styles to choose from.  They all have different features about them, and levels of mastery associated with each.  Is there a best passing style in NCAA College Football 25?  It really depends on what you’re looking for in the game and just how complicated you want things to be.

Classic Passing

Classic Passing is the passing style that’s basically been with the Madden and CFB series for years and years.  If you hold down the button you get a bullet-pass if you tap it you get a lob.  It’s not a complicated passing scheme, and classic passing is definitely for the more casual CFB 25 player.

Revamped Passing

Revamped Passing is a new addition to CFB 25 and much different than anything we’ve seen from the Madden series in recent years.  This method of passing allows for you to focus on making “perfect passes” as designated by a meter that is much like the one that you find on shots in the NBA 2K series.  When making a pass, the receiver that you are throwing to has a color coded meter and the objective is to hold the button exactly as long as the meter would designate a perfect pass.  This option gives more control of the arc of the ball, with ratings and the context of the pass playing a role on how much power needs to be put on a throw.  This meter does take some getting used to as the timing can be longer or shorter depending on the situation.

Placement Passing

If you want to leave accuracy up to the stat gods at EA, Placement passing is for you.  You have the ability to control pass placement and the power of the pass.  Whether or not it’s an accurate throw or not will be left up to the stats.

Placement & Accuracy

Placement & Accuracy enables a timing element for perfect accuracy on bullet passes on top of visual targets to control the pass placement and power.   This is the option for those that really want to master the art of passing in CFB 25.  You’re basically dealing with controlling all the aspects of the pass and it can feel like a little much at times.  But for those that have the skills to control each aspect of the throw, with a good QB they can probably make throws that others can’t.

So which is the best passing style in NCAA College Football 25?

The revamped passing option feels like the best of the four when it comes to accessibility, fun, and feeling like you’re still able to compete with others.  Being able to make a perfect pass while only managing a single meter feels like the most approachable way to play this game.  That said, if you’re looking for the passing style with the most options, Placement & Accuracy will be the one with the ability to control all aspects of a pass.  Accurate passing isn’t all there is to being a Quarterback.  Check out these speedy run-first QBs in our guide for the fastest QBs in NCAA College Football 25.
