Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is slated to release on October 25th, 2024 but ahead of that, a beta will take place where players can play the game during a beta period for the game. As was revealed back when the game was initially announced to the public, the Black Ops 6 beta will have two parts. The first is the early access beta and the second is the open beta.
Black Ops 6 Early Access Beta
The Early Access Beta for Black Ops 6 will run from August 30 through September 4th on all platforms. The Early Access beta will be available for anyone that pre-orders Black Ops 6 or for those that subscribe to specific Game Pass plans.
Black Ops 6 Open Beta
The Open Beta for Black Ops 6 will run from September 6th through September 9th on all platforms.
Treyarch hasn’t announced the specific maps and modes that will available during the beta, but if it’s anything like previous beta releases for Call of Duty it should be enough to get a good feel for the game. This year, Call of Duty fans will have a lot to come to terms with when it comes to new mechanics. The game’s omni-directional movement system should be a game-changer for Call of Duty, giving it just enough newness to feel different than previous games in the series.
Black Ops 6 is already said to have 16 multiplayer maps, that are spread across different player counts. 12 for core 6v6 gameplay and four maps that can be played for smaller engagements of 2v2 or 6v6. For zombies fans, Black Ops 6 will mark a return to the round-based variants of the popular game mode instead of the more recent open-world variety that we saw with Modern Warfare 3.
More details are sure to come when the Call of Duty NEXT event begins on August 28th, just days before the Black Ops 6 Early Access beta begins.
